1,600+ Appeals Experience | Erik Swenk
A three-year record of careful orders — reviewed by Florida’s appellate courts and affirmed.
During my first three years with the Office of Appeal Hearings, I served as a Hearing Officer presiding over administrative evidentiary hearings involving public assistance benefits.
Many of these cases involved people representing themselves. Others were highly contested matters with large amounts in controversy, requiring careful rulings on objections and legal motions before final orders issued.
Over that three-year period, I presided over more than 1,600 appeals. Those decisions were appealable directly to Florida’s District Courts of Appeal. While a handful were reviewed, not one received negative treatment. Every order was affirmed.
That record reflects careful preparation, thoughtful analysis, and a commitment to applying the law fairly and consistently.
